New Blog, new ideas

 So, about me. I'm Marc, I'm 42 and I have lived in Leicester UK my whole life. 

I've often pondered creating a blog but couldn't think of what it would be about as many others tend to focus on one thing. So I decided, feck it. It'll be about what I want, the ramblings of a mad man 😂. 


So some basic stuff for me, as I mentioned I'm 42, I'm married and have been since 2016. I live in Leicester, I'm very left wing and apparently a snowflake because I...checks notes* want equality for everyone. I despise the Tories and anyone who votes for them. I love Doctor Who and Star Trek in all their forms, but some more than others.


I've very little patience for nonsense and also point and laugh at right wingers. I love travelling and moving around. 


I'll update my blog as and when, with reviews, travel blogs, inane ramblings etc etc. I hope you stick around.

My Father...the hero?

  One of my earliest memories is crying in my cot, I don't know how old I was, possibly 2 or 3. I don't remember why I was crying, Maybe I'd shit myself, maybe I'd just wanted a hug. Either way I was crying. I then recall my dad coming into my bedroom, Finally I'll get what I want. Except he came in with an angry face, Next thing I know he was yelling and then hit me and left.  That pretty much sums up the relationship with my dad. The two photos show me smiling at the camera when I was a young kid, but they don't show that I was afraid of my dad, my confidence and self esteem was non existent and I wanted to die. My father...the hero. My Mum and Dad married on Christmas Eve 1981, I was born in September 1982. My dad never hid the fact that I was unwanted, that I was an embarrassment to him. Nostalgia isn't what it used to be

 Hoho, What a witty and oh so original title that is. So, the world is shit, for Millennials like myself (For the Oldie Daily Mail readers, that's for people born from 1981 to 1996) things are shit, it's too expensive to buy houses, jobs don't pay enough, less security than before, won't be able to retire until we've been dead a month etc etc, so we often think back to when we were younger, when things were cheaper, when TV was better and we relax, we are in our comfort zone.  Obviously there's a market for that so we've had many reboots of films/TV shows/Comics, Legacy toys released, we go online to say things were better "in our day" (Though that's often what the ODMRs say as an excuse to be cunts) and for the most part, they work, we feel young again, I myself quite often enjoy sitting down to watch Batman The Animated series, Or Power Rangers, or rub one out to Babestation. Nostalgia IS what it used to be.

  So, my last Blog was about my dad, I had a fair few people approach me, thanking me for what I said and also to say how sorry they were. So I've decided to do a follow up of sorts to my first blog about Nostalgia, Now come with me as we go back to my childhood but for happier memories. As some of you may know, I'm bit of a Star Trek, Doctor Who, general Sci-fi fan. Well saying bit of a fan is like saying Elon Musk is a bit rich (He's also a grade A cunt), and that stems from my childhood, I've many happy memories of weekday evenings in the 1990s when BBC2 would show Star Trek, TNG, DS9 and Voyager across the week, usually about 6pm, from memory it was Voyager on a Sunday, The original series on a Friday with TNG on a Wednesday and DS9 on a Thursday.  Occasionally we'd also have other shows like Space 1999, Battlestar Galactica (The original series), Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and Stingray, with Doctor Who also repeated, so I'd go upstairs with my dinner, an...
