To Cleethorpes and back
So, on 25th February, I decided to go to Cleethorpes to have some fish and chips. "Cleethorpes...in February? Are you mad?" I hear you ask, well yeah I am but that's not the point. There's an hourly train service from Sheffield to Cleethorpes throughout the day via Doncaster but there's one day that goes via Brigg. So I decided to do that, it leaves Sheffield at 09.54 and arrives about 90 minutes later, before heading back via Brigg to Sheffield at about half past 1. Plenty of time to get some fish and chips. Into the platform at Sheffield pootled 150277, a two coach train that's almost 40 years old. A handful of passengers were on board including some dog walkers, with a handful of stops it was nice to see the train get busier as the journey went on, including some other rail enthusiasts. Upon arrival at Cleethorpes I decided to use the facilities at the station as I needed to make room for my lunch....shock horror, the toilets at the station were closed, ...
