Tis the season....

It's the first of December as I type this, Christmas is coming. For Millions it's a reason to get excited. For Millions of others, it's always a reason to get stressed and anxious.

When I was a child, I grew to fear Christmas because of my dad (Read my blog about him.) so even now it fills me with dread and anxiety, not just because of that but also because routines go out the window, public transport is at the whim of Christmas and a reliable mode of transport may suddenly not be running. Meeting family you haven't seen for years, or don't like, just because "Tradition" demands it.

For many it's a lonely time, loss of family or friends take its toll, there's a reason Suicides go up this time of year. Mental Health always takes a battering.

So whenever someone tells you they don't enjoy Christmas, don't just laugh and call them a "Scrooge" or "Bah Humbug". There is ALWAYS a reason they don't like Christmas. Maybe because of what it represents or something that happened. There is always a reason and when you laugh in their face and dismiss it, it hurts them

They may then decide to close down, not talking about why they don't like it, it can and does have an impact on the person.

The reason they don't like it could be trivial to you maybe they don't like the Music, or the cold, but it's never trivial to them.

So when someone says they don't like Christmas, Be kind. Ask Why.

Happy Holidays.....and Good Luck.
